Discover the artwork in the city

A sleeping beauty, a hitchhiker, a child, a hand, a naked body, a cross, a portico, a bike wheel, a stone garden, primitive forms, mural paintings… just a few of the sights to see.

These sometimes curious depictions can be found throughout the four corners of the city and can be enjoyed by passersby.

A feast for the eyes that can be extended, thanks to our small guide: “
Art in the city, Promenades in Ottignies-Louvain-la-Neuve”.

Four public art itineraries in the territory of Ottignies-Louvain-la-Neuve bring you from the urban center to the science parks, passing through some of greener areas of town.  A hundred works of art, selected for their leisure, are ready to be discovered on foot, by bike, by car, alone or with friends !

The remarkable trees of Louvain-la-Neuve

About one hundred remarkable trees were indexed in the city of Ottignies-Louvain-la-Neuve and most are located on the university site.

Some were planted for scientific reasons when the city was being created, like the red oriental maple near the Sainte-Barbe court, or this Byzance hazelnut tree planted in 1975 at Avenue Georges Lemaître.
