Louvain-la-Neuve Museum

A museum, a double vocation

The Louvain-la-Neuve Museum is located at the heart of the liberal arts college.  With permanent and temporary exhibits, the museum has an educational and research role..
The university context explains the diversity of its collections.  In thirty years, the Museum has quadrupled its heritage and considerably developed its educational, exhibit and event policies (evening receptions, concerts, conferences, creative workshops, etc.).

The Louvain-la-Neuve Museum presents its rich heritage in an original manner.

A "dialogue museum"

In the permanent exhibit space, dedicated to the Delsemme legacy, the works of famous modern painters, like René Magritte and Paul Delvaux, echo or clash with works from all different cultures and continents.

An art and civilization museum

The peripheral arts (popular art, naive art or raw art) were not forgotten!  At any moment, visitors can discover a part of these collections, in the civilizations section or 20th century art section.

Large collections
The collections, presented in rotation, cover domains as varied as the engravings (Dürer, Van Dyck, Goya, Rodin, Picasso, etc.), the 20th century Belgian art (notably abstract art) and sculpture, from Antiquity to the “primitive arts” of Africa and Oceania.

The rotating presentation of heritage and the accommodation of temporary exhibits provide the museum with a different face each season.

OPEN Tuesday through Friday from 10 am to 6 pm & weekends from 2 pm to 6 pm. CLOSED Monday and holidays.
